The Special Penitentiary Service of Ministry of Justice of Georgia announces vacancies

The Coordination Council of the Special Penitentiary Service – A State Subagency under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia announces vacancies for the following positions (pro bono):





 

  • A Member of the Council of the National Agency for Execution of Non-Custodial Sentences and Probation – a LEPL (Legal Entity of Public Law) acting under the remit of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia – to work with NGO representatives;
  • Members of the local councils of the Special Penitentiary Service:
    • The First Local Council of East Georgia - 2 vacancies
    • (1 representative of a Non-Governmental Organization and 1 representative of a Higher/General Education Institution)
    • The Second Local Council of East Georgia - 2 vacancies
      (1 representative of a Non-Governmental Organization and 1 representative of a Higher/General Education Institution)
    • The Local Council of West Georgia – 2 vacancies
      (1 representative of a Non-Governmental Organization and 1 representative of a Higher/General Education Institution)
    • The Local Council for Juvenile Cases - 2 vacancies
      (1 representative of a Non-Governmental Organization and 1 representative of Higher/General Education Institution)
    • The local council reviewing the cases of convicted women - 2 vacancies
      (1 representative of a Non-Governmental Organization and 1 representative of a Higher/General Education Institution)

 

Who can apply:

  1. A non-governmental organization that is registered in accordance with the Georgian law and its founding document at the moment of registration must recognize protection of Human Rights and Freedoms as the basic principle.
  2. A Representative of a Higher/General Education Institution must be registered in accordance with the Georgian law.


Eligibility Criteria:

The representative of a Higher Education Institution must have professional experience in the field of Criminal Law, Criminology, Psychology or Social and Political Sciences. As for representative of a General Education Institution, preference will be given to the teacher who has experience of working with teens in conflict with the law.

 

Deadlines:

Based on interagency consultations and a common agreement, non-governmental organizations must submit their candidates to the coordinating council within 5 working days after the vacancy announcement. If the agreement is not reached after the consultations, NGOs are entitled to nominate candidates independently.

Representatives of a Higher/General Education Institution must nominate their candidates within 5 working days, as well.

Representatives of NGOs are required to attach a notarized copy of the Charter of the Organization. As for the representatives of higher/general education institutions, they must submit a certificate of incorporation and a confirmation of their working experience.  The deadline for submission of candidates is 9:00 am, August 4, 2018 via e-mail. In case the original documents are required, the council will inform the candidate in advance.
